Beginner & Intermediate Throwing: Pop-Up Class!
(Learn to create new forms for popular baking items: Pie Plate, Muffin Cups, and Batter Bowl)

*Participants MUST already have taken at least 1 level 1 throwing course with WSA.*
For: Adults and 16+
4 Monday afternoons on June 1, 8, 15 and 22
Time: 1:00pm-3:30pm
Cost for all 4 classes: $160 (includes 1 bag of clay)
Supplies including 1 bag, tools, glazes, and firing are provided!
Extra clay can be purchased.
Come and experience the joy of creating more than the usual mug, bowl, or plate with Elya! In these 4 classes, your goal will be to add to your current skills by learning how to throw larger, and smaller items than typical, trim large plates, and use more precise measurements equivalent to what standard food recipes may require. Find out if you’re ready to level-up by trying something new at your wheel.
Day 1: Throwing at least 1 of each: (students are encouraged to try something new or challenging)
- Set of 4-6 muffin cups (5cm base, 3.2cm height)
- Pie plate (9inch base diameter, 1inch height)
Day 2: Throwing continued
- Batter bowl with a rolled rim, spout, and modified handle
Day 3: Trimming
Day 4: Trimming continued and glazing
Part of each class time will focus on proper setup and clean up as these are crucial aspects of working with clay.
