Come and experience the joy of creating a cohesive home collection with Elya! In these 4 classes, your goal will be to add to your current skills by learning how to throw closed forms, trim unusual shapes, and use more precise measurements to include an additional component to your piece. This is the perfect class if you’re looking for something new to try at your wheel, but don’t quite feel ready for a level 2 course. Make a useful set for your home, or as a gift for someone else this Christmas!
Day 1: Throwing at least 1 of each: 1 closed-form item of your choice, 1 narrow (4cm) long-necked cylinder, and a spoon rest or other creative choice item (students are encouraged to try something new or challenging!)
Day2: Throwing continued
Day3: Trimming using a chuck, punching holes into garlic keep, and underglazing
Day 4: Glazing
Part of each class time will focus on proper setup and clean up as these are crucial aspects of working with clay.
