Session 2:
6 Tuesdays on June 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, July 7th, 14th *No class on June 30th due to maintenance*
Session 3:
6 Tuesdays on July 28th, August 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th, September 1st
Time: 6:30-9 pm
Cost for all 6 classes: $210.00 for Members; $220 for non-Members
All supplies including clay, tools, glazes, and firing are included! Beginner and experienced potters are welcome!
Join Katherine for 6 fun weekly clay hand-build classes! Participants will learn the basics of hand-building using various techniques such as pinch, coil, and slab building. Participants will also learn to attach pieces, how to fix and repair pieces, sgraffito, how to carve, how to use transfers, and so much more! Register now for this fun and educational course!
Week 1 – Pinch (Small Pots) Slab (Med Platter) Coil (Vase)
Week 2 – Make and use a template. Begin your own project using all three techniques or just one
Week 3 – Underglaze, Transfers, Sgraffito, Glazing Techniques. Continue to work on your project, or create a new one
Week 4 – Learning how to fix cracks, mending, and attach handles or decorative add-ons
Week 5 – Completing pieces and glazing
Week 6 – Complete glazing
Part of each class time will focus on proper setup and clean up as these are crucial aspects of working with clay.
Those who take a 6-week clay hand-build course will be eligible to participate in “Open Studio” time – where you can purchase studio time and supplies to work on your own projects under minimal supervision.
